Until about 30 seconds ago, I would have sworn up and down that the 80s revival was finally over having been replaced by the dark, layered, depressive tones of Cobain-inspired grunge chic (a la 1993). But that was before I bumped into this post, which highlights some of the 80s “party dresses” that have started showing up at Topshop, Miss Selfridge, and other UK clothing shops.Is it just me, or do these shockingly similar to the dresses Molly Ringwald and company wore to every school dance back in Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink?
These dresses would have been incredibly cool a couple years ago, but now the 80s obsession seems uninspired. I’m ready to start stealing from a different decade.
